In October 2023, Samir’s world changed forever. A drone exploded in his room while he was playing, shattering his childhood in an instant. The blast tore through his home with unimaginable force, leaving destruction, fire, and despair in its wake.

Samir woke up in Al-Shifa Hospital with devastating injuries. His arm and leg had been amputated. “Where are my arm and leg?” he asked his parents. “You all have two arms and two legs… but I have none.”

Before the attack, Samir was a joyful boy who loved to run, play soccer, and laugh with his friends. Now, he spends his days lying on a mattress, unable to walk or play. The shock of what happened, and the sudden loss of his independence, has been overwhelming for him and his family.

But despite the pain, Samir still dreams. He dreams of traveling abroad to receive a prosthetic arm and leg. He dreams of walking again. He dreams of playing soccer, like he used to.

The cost of specialized medical care, prosthetics, transportation, and living expenses during his recovery is far beyond what his family can afford—especially in Gaza, where even basic needs are hard to meet.

That is why we have launched this campaign: to give Samir back his childhood.

• Transportation for Samir and his caregiver to a specialized medical center abroad
